Fennel is a popular perennial herb usually grown as an annual or biennial with feathery foliage. There are 15-25 small yellow flowers produced in a cluster during flowering. Fennel is native to Europe but grown in all of the U.S. Both foliage and seeds of fennel are used in cooking. Fennel is cultivated as an ornamental and is an ingredient in candy and perfume.
